Introduction LGC ARMI is a producer of high quality reference materials for the chemical analysis of metal alloys. Our certification process follows ISO 17034 procedures for reference material manufacturers and includes both homogeneity testing of candidate material and chemical analysis of major and trace elements using a wide range of analytical methods including XRF, ICP-OES/MS, Arc-Spark Optical Emission, GD-AES and GDMS.

The homogeneity testing is all performed in house in our ISO 17025 analytical laboratory. The chemical analyses used for the certification process are collected both in our laboratory using XRF, ICP-OES and ICP-MS as well as through a network of external laboratories using multiple analytical techniques.

This approach insures that we produce high quality reference materials with the largest number of certified elements while limiting inter-technique biases.

Our reference materials are available in several forms to suit various analytical techniques. Most of our products are 38mm in diameter and cut as 3mm thick discs for XRF analysis, 19mm thick discs for OE analysis. We also provide chips for ICP and AA analysis. Custom forms are available upon request. We recognize that sample preparation along with reference materials are critical components in producing high quality analytical data. We therefore provide sample preparation equipment including disc and pendulum grinders for the surface preparation of metal samples for XRF and OE analysis, fusion systems for the preparation of powdered materials for XRF analysis and a unique ColdBlockTM digestion system for ICP and AA sample preparation.
